Well, one of my readers has found a temporary solution:

I can help you with this one. The server does remember the user from the first time he/she's left a message but there is a little clickable link next to the "Welcome back [Username]" message which says "change". If the user clicks this, he will be able to change his username and email add if he likes. And there he will also find a box to enter the required anti-spam word for the current comment. Once he enters the anti-spam word, his comment will be posted with no problems. This has to be done for every consecutive comment after the first ever comment.

Still wondering how to sort this out permanently though.

Have had a couple of emails from people who are experiencing problems with posting comments on my site. Apparently, the first time someone posts there is no problem. But once the computer recognizes that user, it tries to show a confirmation code for the user to type in. The problem is that this confirmation code image doesn't appear.

Is it something I have done wrong with the site or an external problem? Many thanks for your help in this in advance.

I seem to be getting similiar problems with this. I've got the number put it in the box. Should the information then come up on that page or elsewhere because I cant see anything. I've tried also putting in the xxxx bit but that just reverts to xxxx. I did this before I went away for the weekend as says it takes 24hrs to work but I cant see any information or do I have to log in somewhere else to see it?

Hi

The code needs to be placed in the top box, you don't need to touch the lower box which really just shows you where the code is. At the moment the code you have entered is 4417862-1. I think the code should be slightly different. For example, the code I have for scubageek is UA-206727-8, so I think you need to enter the correct code.

Hi I am confused, I have signed up to Google analytics and been to my panel on my blog. the page on deepstop is in french....

Entrez votre numéro de compte Google Analytics:

I think I had to put my number in "UA-4417862-1" but when I click save options the code keeps going back to the "UA-xxxxxx-1", help?

Google Analytics vous donne un code comme celui là :
Votre numéro de compte est UA-xxxxxxx-x. Copiez le et collez le dans le champs ci-dessus..

Hi

I have replaced the bsuite plugin with a google analytics plugin. All you need to do is sign up with google analytics and copy the code into the box which you can find by clicking google analytics in your admin panel. I am currently using it on scubageek and it works fine.

Google analytics has far better info than bsuite and doesn't crash the site (bsuite seems to be unstable with this latest version of wordpress.

Hi All,

I just happened across this site in my search for other like minded folks for all things diving. Love reading all about them so keep them updated so I can come back and read up more on all your exploits.

Just as an added item of interest, I've started on the road to becoming a fully qualified HSE Commercial Diver, something I've thought about for a long time now. As such had I known about this site I would have setup my blog here, but alas, I started one up at www.craigsdiveblog.co.uk please feel free to visit and comment. Some funny stuff, but also informative if you have ever considered a Commercial job in diving.

Hi

It is usually a problem with a headline. Perhaps you have used a particularly long headline or included some funny formatting in a post. Try looking at each individual post on the front page of the blog. Click on the headline and look at the sidebar on the single post page. If it is wrong then that is the post causing the problems.

Don't know what's causing it, but the formatting on my blog is a little messed up again. The left hand sidebar is being moved to the bottom for some reason, and it doesn't seem like there is a picture in a blog entry making it do that.

I think thats a good idea Andy particularly for people who are thinking of starting one themselves or just want to have a browse. What I really would like is a just something..maybe on the homepage again..which just flags up those blogs most which have had something most recently posted. I know there is a list on the home page but names go to the top even if only a small alteration is made or a comment added and often for reasons I cant fathom! Anyhow some like the feed we had on YD or the dashbard feed on the home page would be really useful...dont know bout how others feel but I really miss it.

Hi

Having had a bit of a think, what if I had a blog directory on the deepstop home pages?

I might need a bit of help but the idea would be a kind of classification of topics which the blog is about, a screenshot, and a bit of text about the blogger. We can add this to the deep stop home page and also a kind of directory page which will list the blogs within their categories.

Hi Jane

I have noticed this myself. The latest updates are supposed to be flagged on the home page but it is often messed up by spam sites, which get deleted very quickly, but this does not take them off the list.

There is a site feed which is available at http://thedeepstop.com/wpmu-feed/ and this includes every post made recently, but again, this can get some spam in it.

Just wanted to apologise for somehow causing the site to go down today. I had something resembling a DoS attack on my page (i.e. a computer trying to download every link on my site). I'm 99% sure my computer's clean as I did 3 spyware checks this morn as part of procedure and they all came up clean, but I'll be running a full virus check once I get home tonight.

Sorry again. Hope it doesn't happen in the future.

I agree. I saw you started a blog of the same name, which may get some traffic, but nothing like Yorkshire Divers.

I would add that scubaboard might also be a good choice, as that is the largest american scuba diving forum

You might be better posting this to the Yorkshire Divers forum (if you haven't already), as that gets an infinitely higher number of visitors than this forum:)

I lost my Princetontec HID while diving the HMS Oregon (Long Island) on August 4, 2007. If anyone finds the light, please notify me at jamiadams@hotmail.com, or return it to Long Island Scuba. I will pay all postage if necessary and reward the honest person with a fresh case of Long Island's finest local brew (from Blue Point Brewery of course).
The light is hand held, yellow/green, and the name ADAMS is written on the back of the light.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hi

Not a 'feature' as such but just an announcement that I have installed google ads on the default theme. This is to help pay towards the bandwidth and running of the server. If you haven't updated your blog within the last 12 months then the theme will be switched to the default one, to help the cause, as I assume you have abandoned it.

It didn't work so I had to take it off. I am looking for another one at the moment.
