Welcome to the new look Deep Stop. We have added a whole bunch of new features to the site, and now have fully integrated forums, so you don’t need to create a seperate account to ask a simple question. The software running the blogs has been enhanced a lot and it has never been easier to publish your scuba diving activities within a great community of like minded people. I am sure that there will be some further tweaks needed as we go, but for now, hope you enjoy your visit.

The standard theme is OK, but not for everyone. Changing the design of your site is basically a one click affair.

Login to your admin panel and select the presentation option. You are then presented with screenshots of all the different themes that are currently installed. There are more being added all the time.

So you are thinking about starting your own Scuba Diving Site at the Deep Stop. Here is a short guide to get you started. The only decision you need to make to start your own scuba diving site is…

Your Name

The name for your site, or rather the URL, is what people will type in to find your site and is known as the address. The more relevant your address to the topics you aim to write about the better. Search engines use the address of a site to help determine how useful it is for the search term. If you want as many people to read and visit your website as possible then ensure your name matches your ‘target’ search terms. There are no rules about the name for your website, other than it needs to be at least 4 letters and contain letters and numbers, it cannot be numbers only, so it can be your own name, like andy.thedeepstop.com, or a generic search term, like scuba.thedeepstop.com, or a project, like diruk2006.thedeepstop.com.

When you write and publish on the internet the copyright is usually the site owners. In the case of the Deep Stop, we respect you and your writing enough to say that the copyright is yours.

There are unscrupulous people out there who may copy your content and use it on their own sites. The way you protect this is via a copyright notice, and then by addressing the hosts of the website committing the offence, but if you have no copyright notice then you have no chance of getting justice. Here’s what I propose.. (more…)
